Contest Theme

We are seeking submissions examining how rapid technological advancements of the century impact humanity. Students could approach this subject through new opportunities or ethical concerns that have emerged resulting from new technology. Here are some ideas to ponder (not necessarily a comprehensive list):

How do new technologies, such as social media, smart mobile devices, artificial intelligence/machine learning, virtual reality/augmented reality, gaming, or other new technology affect education, intellectual and emotional development of youth, arts, healthcare practices, consumption habits, social and familial relationships, etc.?

How do screen addiction affect us?

Has accessing credible information gotten easier or harder?

What makes an online content viral?

Here are some topics that may give ideas (not necessarily a comprehensive list):
CONNECTIVITY
Social media bridges gaps, fostering global understanding and collaboration.
EMPATHY
Sharing stories promotes compassion, inspiring collective efforts towards peace.
DIALOGUE
Open conversations on social platforms facilitate conflict resolution and tolerance.
AWARENESS
Social media amplifies marginalized voices, shedding light on critical peacebuilding issues.
MOBILIZATION
Online platforms enable grassroots movements to drive positive change.
INCLUSIVITY
Social media fosters diverse perspectives, nurturing a more harmonious society.
